Boost teen self-esteem

A Happy Teens Wellbeing Conference is being held on 17th March 2018 between 10am and 5pm at Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School in St Albans.

This one day event is aimed at helping adolescents understand and navigate the transitional period from childhood to adulthood.

As a professional photographer, I work with this age group frequently (as well as having a teenager at home), so I understand this exciting period of growth is about discovery, independence, and establishing one’s self-identity.  It is also the toughest and most dramatic development phase of our lives.

Confidence and self-esteem is vital to emotional wellbeing and gives our teens resilience during this phase.  In my experience, a portrait experience can have a visible impact on a child’s confidence.  Despite the numerous ‘selfies’ this age group appear to take, the process of planning and involvement in a professional portrait session helps them consider their individuality, shows them how beautiful they are and reinforces how they are seen by others.

I am giving one teenager attending the Happy Teens Wellbeing Conference the opportunity to design their own ‘Dream Portrait’, reflecting who they are.  Worth £104, the prize draw will take place at the conference and the winner will be asked to make a small donation to the supported charities.   Click here to enter now.

Charities supported are Rephael House Counselling Services and The OLLIE Foundation suicide prevention charity.
